Winnipeg Dance Classes - Ages 6+
Lessons Designed To Suit Any Dancer
Jazz - Ages 6+Jazz is a fun, upbeat class combining technical elements and creativity, all while increasing flexibility, strength and musicality. Jazz tends to be a faster paced dance form performed to popular music, new and old. Instructors teach the art of performance along with challenging each dancer. This class is a great way to improve dancers' coordination and build their cardiovascular levels in an energetic and performance based setting. Students enrolled in a Jazz class are strongly encouraged to enrol in Ballet.
|
Lyrical - Ages 9+Lyrical dance typically displays slower movements which incorporate technique and flexibility. With its foundation firmly placed in the Ballet world, a variety of Jazz-like movements are used to showcase strength and control while the dancer tells a story through movement. It is a “free-er” moving discipline with emphasis on strong technique. Students enrolled in Lyrical are strongly encouraged to enrol in Ballet.

Acro - Ages 6+This Acro class combines dance technique with acrobatic elements. With a focus on concentration, balance, flexibility and control, students will work on strengthening their bodies to perform a variety of skills such as head/ hand stands, back bridges, cartwheels, and aerials. RDC is fully certified on all levels under the Acrobatic Arts syllabus. Dancer safety is a top priority and mats are provided. Note: This class does not cover basic dance skills therefore registration in additional technical dance classes is required.

Hip Hop - Ages 6+Hip Hop encompasses movement with punch and style. Often popular music is used to encourage students to loosen up and explore their inner swag! Ballet - Ages 6+Ballet classes are the critical foundation of all dance styles. Ballet improves strength, agility, flexibility, and balance, while increasing the students' focus and body awareness. All RDC ballet classes are based on the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) graded syllabus, which promotes a strong understanding of ballet technique and is the largest examination and teacher training syllabus in the world.

Pointe - Ages 12+Ballet classes are the critical foundation of all dance styles. Students will begin the start of the year strengthening the ankles and improving their technique. Once the dancer is prepared the instructor will begin to incorporate beginner pointe work into the lesson plan. Technique & Injury Prevention - Ages 10+This class is designed to help dancers reach their full potential. In this class students will focus on technique and how to prevent injuries. Most injuries in dance class happen when a dancer isn’t using all the proper technique. Primarily working on individual students’ trouble areas helps each student thrive in all of their other classes while maintaining a healthy body. Classes work on areas such as jumps, turns, fluidity, performance, and more!

Dance Performances and Events
Parents Week
All students are welcome to bring family members to each of their classes to observe and participate during this week! This is a fun time for the students to share their passion for dance. Chairs will be set up for parents so they can observe and participate.
Winter Gala
This show benefits dancers by giving them more experience performing on stage and highlighting their efforts for all their friends and family! This gala is a more casual event than the year end recital. With this more relaxed environment dancers focus more on having fun on stage and getting over their fears before the year end recital.
Picture Days
In the spring a professional photographer will take individual and group shots of the students wearing their costumes. Remember to order pictures so these memories last a lifetime!
Year End Recital
The RDC season ends with an annual May Recital. All classes perform a routine they have been rehearsing the past few months. All students are required to order costumes to participate. Tickets for the annual dance recital will go on sale in Spring of the new year. More detailed information will be communicated closer to the event.

Studio Hours By Appointment Only |
What Our Dancers Are SayingOur daughter Hailey has been dancing at RDC for over 5 years now. We have watched her blossom from a shy little girl who was so nervous to dance to this incredibly confident performer. Miss Nicole, the studio director is so involved and you see how much she genuinely cares about the kids but also the studio. We look forward to many more years with RDC and recommend the studio to anyone who wants to be more than just a number.
