Jammers (Junior Assistant Mentor) Program

Being an assistant is the first step to becoming a dance teacher at RDC. Apprentice (Teacher Training) Program

Do you want to be a role model for our young dancers and possibly a dance teacher in the future?  This is the place to start learning the skills necessary and building the relationships that will lead you down the right path!

This program has many benefits such as; giving back to the dance community, making connections with staff, learning valuable skills, volunteering hours for high school students and more!

In this program you  will be partnered with several staff members/classes and work on growing your leadership, teaching style, and dance knowledge. The goal of this program is to train this dancer and begin the process of training a new RDC staff member.

Apprentices will progress through the program in 3 different levels:

Level 1 Apprentices will begin the process of learning how to be an RDC staff member and teacher. Students in level 1 of the Apprentice Program will have the opportunity to attend staff meetings, learn how to lead small exercises in class, and have weekly meetings with Nicole to discuss specific teaching tips and provide feedback.

Level 2 Apprentices will take the skills and knowledge learned from Level 1 and begin to apply it. Students in level 2 will have more opportunities to lead classes throughout the year, learn skills such as class management, and be provided with lesson planning resources. At the end of Level 2 students will be evaluated and assessed too see if they are able to move to Level 3 to become a paid co-teacher.

Level 3 Apprentices are now actively working to improve their teaching skill and apply the skills learned in Level 1 and 2 in order to fully run a successful class. Level 3 apprentices will have the opportunity to co-teach weekly classes, create choreography for Recital Routines, and work to confidently teach a class on their own!

Graduating Apprentices will have the knowledge and skill to confidently teach classes on their own, not only at RDC but wherever life may take them.

What Our Dancers Are Saying

Our daughter Hailey has been dancing at RDC for over 5 years now. We have watched her blossom from a shy little girl who was so nervous to dance to this incredibly confident performer. Miss Nicole, the studio director is so involved and you see how much she genuinely cares about the kids but also the studio. We look forward to many more years with RDC and recommend the studio to anyone who wants to be more than just a number.
