AN INSIDE LOOK AT
ROYAL DANCE CONSERVATORY

​Royal Dance Conservatory means the world to me, it has become my second home. RDC has helped me grow as a dancer and a person. Before RDC dance was just a hobby of mine not so much a passion. I started to want to challenge myself more in dance. I wanted to compete and challenge myself, but I lived in a small town and that wasn't offered at my dance studio. When I moved to Winnipeg I knew I wanted to go to RDC.

I started dancing when I was 10 years old at Royal Dance Conservatory. At the very beginning, I did two rec classes and danced because it was fun and something I enjoyed doing. Now it is much more than that, throughout the years my passion and love for dance has grown tremendously. Dance is the one thing that I absolutely love. When I dance I feel like a different person, it lets me escape and I get to feel the music with my movements and tell a story and express my feelings through my dancing. Royal Dance Conservatory is like an escape for me. I am there practically every single day and it has become my home away from home. It is my favourite place in the whole world. When I'm there I don't have to worry about impressing anyone or stress about school or anything I can just be myself and dance. ​

Dancing at Ovation Dance Competition was such a great and rewarding experience. Royal Dance Conservatory did very well and we all had an amazing time. I really liked this competition because it recognized lots of different dancers. It was refreshing compared to other competitions where you are seeing instead the same ones over and over. 

The two weeks before we left Winnipeg were the longest weeks of my life, but when the day of leaving for Toronto arrived I was totally ready! We left the house around 7:45 to pick up my teammate and friend Bobbi and then went to get Miss Nicole. Surprisingly waiting at the airport went by super fast and before you knew we were flying. The flying experience was so amazing for me because it was my first time on an airplane.
